Arcadis, Antea Group, PosadMaxwan and TwynstraGudde win MIRT study for the public transport link Amsterdam - Schiphol – Hoofddorp
As part of the project team with consulting and engineering organisations Arcadis, Antea Group and TwynstraGudde, we won the tender to improve public transport links between Amsterdam and Haarlemmermeer. The study focuses on several public transport solutions: the extension of the railway and the Schiphol railway tunnel, the extension of the North/South metro line and a high-frequency bus connection. The exclusive framework contract includes preparation of an environmental impact assessment, social cost-benefit analysis, technical elaborations, spatial integration and project management services. The agreement will run for a maximum of eight years. The parties announced this on Tuesday, 26 March.
The Amsterdam-Haarlemmermeer Public Transport Link (OVAH) is a joint project of the municipalities of Amsterdam and Haarlemmermeer, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, the province of North Holland, the Amsterdam regional transport authority, Royal Schiphol Group, Schiphol Area Development Company and NS. Working closely with these parties, Arcadis, Antea Group, PosadMaxwan and TwynstraGudde are studying solutions to capacity problems in the Schiphol railway tunnel and at the stations Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam Zuid. This project improves public transport accessibility of existing and new residential/work locations in the area and intensifies international train traffic.
