Cycle to the nearest natural swimming location
In need of some cooling down during hot summer days? For the August edition of the social media series #mapofthemonth, we charted all the officially designated, natural swimming locations in the Netherlands. And we analysed their accessibility for cyclists as well.
Swimming, cycling, but also being able to relax by the water; it all contributes to healthy urbanization. In that respect, the inhabitants of Westerwolde are lucky. This municipality has the most swimming locations nearby, if you do not include the coastal towns. People in Apeldoorn, Arnhem, Amersfoort, Alkmaar and Deventer must cycle further to take a dip.
