A healthy Zuid-Holland by 2040

How can Zuid-Holland become the Netherlands’ healthiest province by 2040? The provincial government has conducted an extensive study with the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research and Posad to answer this question. On Tuesday 3 July, the parties will present a resulting report with an overview of trends and developments.

A healthy environment is a crucial precondition for making sure the province remains a pleasant place to live, work and play. Taking this as a guiding principle, we have set out four potential future storylines for Zuid-Holland. They focus respectively on exercise, green space, factors such as noise and air quality, and inclusivity. Moving from research to action,  the storylines will be tested in the real world and used to develop potential policy measures. A workshop at the meeting on 3 July 2018 will kick off this next stage of the project.
