Partner National pedestrian congress

We are partner of the National Pedestrian Congress. This is the only national congress that focuses on the pedestrian. This year's theme is Proximity. Marianne Lefever will give a workshop on the positive impact of proximity on our health.

With more and more inhabitants in the city, it is time to focus on designing vital cities. Offering daily facilities within walking distance has great benefits for our health and well-being. Car use for short journeys is discouraged and walking and cycling are encouraged. This contributes to a good shape, better air quality, more social interaction, social control, more attractive public space and a sustainable local economy. The walkability tool can help realize the positive impact of proximity. The tool provides direct insights into what can be done to make a neighborhood attractive for pedestrians.

This congress will unfortunately only be given in Dutch.
