The study uncovered five main tasks for the state and region that affect accessibility and are strongly interlinked:
-          Strengthening competitiveness,
-          Maintaining accessibility of key areas,
-          Meeting the need for new housing,
-          Keeping all types of daily traffic functioning smoothly, and
-          Strengthening ambitions in the areas of innovation and smart mobility.

PosadMaxwan conducted the study as part of the planning stage of the AMR’s Accessibility Programme, which will address travel to, from and within the region. The formulated tasks will constitute a point of departure and an agenda.

To formulate the primary tasks, PosadMaxwan held interactive workshops with representatives of local, regional and national government. We identified values and needs present within the AMR as a starting point for developing a joint approach to accessibility and urbanisation. The results have been incorporated in a set of maps, which will serve as a useful visual aid for follow-up discussions.
